Welcome

Sagamore Service Troop | Theodore Roosevelt Council

Established in1923 by a group of devoted Scouters to pass on a lifetime of leadership skills and training to new generations of Scouts and Scout leaders within Theodore Roosevelt Council.

We adapted the name Sagamore Troop in honor of Sagamore Hill, the home of "Teddy" Roosevelt, the first Commissioner of the Nassau County Council, which was renamed the Theodore Roosevelt Council in 1997.

A Scout is never taken by surprise; he knows exactly what to do when anything unexpected happens.
— Robert Baden-Powell
